Criminologist and Social psychologist
Driven by a deep interest in understanding human behavior within social contexts, I am drawn to the complex interplay between anti-social and pro-social behaviors. While I consider myself foremost a criminologist, in particular a comparative criminologist, I have complemented this foundation with studies in social and cross-cultural psychology. This dual focus has not only enriched my initial training as a psychologist but has also sharpened my insights into deviant behavior.
Having an affinity for statistics as a means to understand social and anti-social phenomena, I predominantly lean towards quantitative methodologies, equipped with the skills to examine quantitative data as a social scientist. Nonetheless, I also value and am well-versed in qualitative data collection and analysis. I firmly believe that both approaches are invaluable to achieving a full understanding of human social behavior.
I am proud of my multicultural heritage, a blend of Brazilian, Italian, and Japanese roots, and further enriched by my Swiss upbringing. I believe that my diverse background has endowed me with a broad worldview and an open-mindedness that allow me to approach topics with an internationally-oriented perspective that is not held to a cultural manner of perceiving and understanding the world.
